Teach God’s Word to Children

And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on you heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Teach God’s Word to Children (your own or someone else’s). No one learns more than the teacher. Digging into Scripture and simplifying it to a child’s level causes us to retain far more of the Bible than we might dream possible. Conversing about Scripture in everyday situations is especially effective, as well.

Use those times of day when you are sitting, walking, lying down and getting up to meditate on Scripture. Otherwise, these often tend to be wasted minutes. If we are memorizing Scripture, we can more easily use traveling and waiting times for meditating on God’s words and praying them back to Him. That is a better alternative than allowing one’s mind to just drift into neutral
