4 Now John himself had a garment of a camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist and his food was locusts and wild with honey.
5 then Jerusalem was going out to him and all Judea and all the district around the Jordan.

The word made flesh
14 and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we behold his glory as of the only begotten from the Father full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of him and cried out saying this was he whom I said he who comes after me has a higher rank than I for existed before me.

50 and he lead them as far out as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
51 And it became about that while he was blessing them he parted from them.

1 The first account I composed Theophilus about all that Jesus began to do and teach.
2 until the day he was taken up after he had by the Holy Spirit has given orders to the apostles whom he had chosen.
3 to these he also presented himself alive after his suffering by many convincing proofs appearing to them over a course of forty days and speaking of the things that concerning the kingdom of God.
4 and gathering them together he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait what father had promised which he said you heard from me
5 for John baptized with water you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now
6 and so when they came to gather they were asking him saying Lord is it at this time you are restoring the kingdom of Israel.
7 he said to them it’s not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by his own authority.
8 but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses both Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and even the remotest part of the Earth.
9 And after he had said these things he was lifted up while they were looking on and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And as they were gazing into the sky while he was departing behold two men in white clothing stood beside them.
The Plot to kill Jesus
AND it came about that when Jesus had finished all these words he said to his disposables.
2 You know after two days that the Passover is coming and the son of man is to be delivered up for crucifixion.
3 then the chief of the priests and the elders were gathered together in the court of the high priest named Caiaphas.
4 and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth to kill him.

3 and while he was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper and reclining at the table there came a woman with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume of pure nard and she poured the vial over his head.
4 But some were saying why has this perfume been wasted?
5 for this perfume might have been sold for over 300 denarii and the money given to the poor they were scolding her.

3 And Satan entered into the Judas who was called Iscariot belonging to the number of the twelve.
4 And he went and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them
5 and they were glad and agreed to give him money.

Jesus serves as a servant.
Isaiah 42: 1-9
Gods Promise Concerning His Servant
1” BEHOLD, My servant, whom I uphold;
MY chosen one in whom MY soul delights.
I have put my spirit upon him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.
2” He will not cry about our raise his voice
Nor make his voice heard in the street.
3” A bruised reed he will not break, and dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He faithfully bring forth justice.
4” He will not be disheartened or crushed
Until he has established justice in the earth
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for his law.
5” Thus says God the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread out the earth and its offspring,
Who gives breath to people on it.
And spirit to those who walk in it,
6”I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness,
I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you
And I will appoint you as a covenant to the people.
As a light to the nation
7”To open blind eyes
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those who dwell in the darkness from the prison.
8” I am the LORD, that is my name; I will not give my glory to another,
9”Behold the former things that have come to pass ,
Now I declare new things ;before they spring fourth I proclaim them to you.
Isaiah 43 : 1-13
1” BUT now thus says the LORD
Your creator O Jacob
And he who formed you O Israel
Do not fear for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name ;you are mine!
2” When you pass through the waters I will be with you;
And through the rivers they will not overflow you
When you walk through fire you will not be scorched.
Nor will the flame burn you.
3” For I am the LORD your God the holy one of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom Cush and seba in your place .
4” Since you are honored and I love you
I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange of your life
5” Do not fear for I am with you ; I will bring your offspring from the east
And gather you from the west.
6”I will say to the north “give them up!” And to the south “do not hold them back”
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth
7” Everyone who is called by my name and whom I have created for my glory
Whom I have formed even whom I have made.
Israel Is Gods Witness
8” Bring out the people who are blind even though they have eyes.
And the deaf even though they have ears.
9”all the nations have gathered together
In order that the peoples may be assembled
Who among them can declare this and proclaim to us former things?
Let them present their witnesses that they may be justified
Or let them here and say” It is true.”
10” You are my witnesses declares the LORD.
And my servant whom I have chosen
In order that you may know and believe me.
And understand I am he
Before me there was no god formed
And there will none after me.
11” I even I am LORD
And there is no savior besides me.
12” It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed
And there is no strange god among you so you are my witnesses declares the LORD
And I am God
13” Even from eternity I am he
And there is none who can deliver out of my hand
I can act and reveres it?
Save me O God, by thy name and I vindicate thy power
2” hear my prayer O God give to the words of my mouth.
3” For strangers have risen against me,
And violent men have sought my life;
They have not set god before them.
4” Behold God is my helper ;
The Lord is the sustainer of my soul .
5” He will recompense the evil of my foes
6” willingly I will sacrifice to thee; I will give thanks to Thy name O Lord for all is good.
7”For he has delivered me from all trouble;
And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.
